Public Garden at Artspace@Helutrans

Hi!

What a hectic yet fulfilling weekend :) I made friends, and most importantly, I achieved one of my goals by being a seller at a Public Garden (and definitely more to come).

To be very honest, I didn't have enough products so the week prior to the PG, this elf was real busy! With alot of support from family and friends, I did it!

I had really good feedback on this fabric clutch. Seems like I wasn't the only who loves the goldfish print!

only for $40!
I'm currently on the hunt for more of this Goldfish print. Hoping to update with good news :)
and so I made one more in another combination of fabrics!

I recruited an assistant elf (my sister) and both of us reached this near god-forsaken place opposite the old Tanjong Pagar Railway Station around noon. I'm really glad I chose Public Garden because the sellers taking part are serious about their craft. Besides, PG has good marketing and also a set of followers who would visit wherever they are when they can!

Ta da!

Really fortunate to have so many supportive friends and of course my family, coming all the way to say hi and buy me food! I had so much food that I had to bring home to share and eat for the next day's breakfast :)

There were very positive feedback, especially for the clutch. There are quite a few people asking to attach a long strap to it to make it into a sling, so it's hands-free - I AM looking for a gorgeous good quality chain to go with it currently. I'm quite fussy because if my customer is paying $40 for the clutch, I want the best quality of chain that budget can afford - especially one that doesn't tarnish with time.

Phew! It was a tiring weekend, but I would do it again anytime. In fact... I have something up my sleeve ;) Will update on that soon!

Been too long!

HELLLOOOOOO!

Oh my goodness! Why did I leave my blog in cobwebs for so long? Honestly, I haven't been up to much (sadly). BUT! I'm setting up a booth in the next Public Garden market at Artspace @ Helutrans and I'm super excited about it. It's on 11 & 12th July, from 1pm to 8pm. I'm thinking... pouches (duh), clutches, totes, clay ring dishes and maybe a couple of terrariums :)

Just some stuff that I've done recently:

I'll be back with updates on my first Public Garden as a seller!

another enjoyable flea market!

I've just left *Scape, calling it a day for my booth at the flea market. although no one bought any of my handmade things, I've shamelessly promoted my Facebook page, so hopefully more people will know about my creations! Christmas is coming, and I'm panicking! there's just so much to do...
in the meanwhile, let me share some photos :)

17th Oct Flea @ Scape

My sister and I set up a booth yesterday at Scape for their Sunday Parade flea market. It was a success! We made a humble profit from selling some clothes, accessories... Most importantly, I sold a set of coasters and a pouch! Yay! It made me so very happy to see people interested in my works, and actually bought it without bargaining the price.

I can't wait for next week!

Sunday Parade #2!

Success!
The 2nd attempt at Sunday Parade finally paid off (literally)! We made a modest profit, and we had Gong Cha (type of beverage with jellies), cheese fries, and a friendly neighbour with an equally friendly dog :)

The best part of it all was that someone gushed over the laptop sleeve that I made for a 13" MacBookPro, and bought it without bargaining the price! I was over the moon :)

I'm going on a trip with my family in a few days' time! I'm definitely gonna give this flea market another couple more tries :)
Until then, peeps!

First attempt at Sunday Parade

Hi Guys!

I've always liked flea markets, and decided to give it a try selling some of my works and some old clothings. The flea market was organized by these guys called For Flea Sake, and the event was Sunday Parade.
Check it out here: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=235417469829755

It was a learning experience for me (basically meaning that I hardly sold anything). I'm giving it another try this coming Sunday again!
So in the meantime... I've been preparing fabrics to sew more pouches!
