Washi tapes!

I have a friend who got me some washi tapes for Christmas.. Then got me a few more from Japan on her holiday. She really shouldn't fuel this dangerous collection.. Really.. But I'm not gonna tell her that. Hahaha!

Cny is approaching!!

It's been kinda insane at work recently. You see, I work in an industry where seasons are the most important times of the year. The phones ring all day long, you get questions of all kinds, you are glued to the computer clucking frantically. Then when you get a breather, your mobile starts ringing and you can't stop until you get home... Or when your phone dies.
So as you can see, when Saturday finally made its way here, I really enjoyed sewing stuff at my own leisurely pace.

Customized travel bag

A friend recently ordered a large drawstring bag for organizing clothing during travel.
I think it's a good idea!
I always have a medium-sized drawstring bag for my innerwear when I travel. I prefer to use zip lock for the rest to maximise space but I think this is a nice way if there's no need to compress your clothing.

Lazy Saturday

When a book sucks me in, it usually renders me useless. However, I did manage to get a bit of sewing done today :)

Salvaging Scraps

Fabric scraps - leftover pieces of random fabrics after completing projects. Odd sizes and shapes which can get quite annoying after a while...

So I decided to whip up something quick for the coffee table whenever Mum serves some fruits and what not.

I grabbed the first few larger pieces of fabrics from my scrap stash and started putting them together, added 2 generous layers of lining to make this large-sized coaster decent... All the while finishing my Season 2 last episode of Sherlock, which by the way, ended with a cliffhanger. I'm getting used to these sort of endings, having just watched The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug. The old me would have been jumping up and down, cursing and pulling out hair at such endings. But being a little more grown-up (*smirks), I remind myself that it just means that there are still good things to come!

I digress. Here's a couple of shots of the coaster.
By the way, happy 2014 :)
